5 months and 3 pounds

Well, I've made it to the 5 month mark of pregnancy. It's going really good right now because all I want to do is eat.. my favorite thing. And I just have to brag a little and give a shout out to the scale -- I've only gained 3 lbs in the pregnancy adventure. I'm sure I'll balloon out in a couple months and I won't have any bragging rights anymore. The doctor still gave me the "you need to eat right" speech. I wanted to remind her that I've only gained 3 lbs, but I know she is right. Ice Cream does not count as a vegetable or a fruit. Calcium maybe, but does it really count after all that fat and sugar?

I voted for the first time last night --- I know, I know - BAD CITIZEN! Its nice to have the place you go to vote right across the street from your house - very convenient. You know you live in a democratic town when you are the 10th Republican to vote at 6pm. Where have all the Republicans gone? Is it not cool to be Republican anymore? For all my fellow Christians out there please take a look at the voting record of Obama and Clinton.

Every Tuesday Bar Louie has $1 hamburgers! We went last night and I plan on going next Tuesday with a friend. What a cheap date!

Made it!

Big old thanks to God for giving me a near perfect flight to and from New Orleans. No flights were cancelled and 1 was only delayed for about 30mins. Everything went as planned. New Orleans was so much fun! They were hosting the French Quarter Festival so we got to eat some good food and listen to some good music. I'm hoping to have some pictures up very soon of our adventures and Robin's absolutely gorgeous wedding! Just wanted to let you all know that I made it safe and sound.

Will I make it to New Orleans???

I turn on the news this moring and what do I see tornadoes, 90mph wind, hail the size of golf balls all throughout the midwest. I'm like grrrreat. Then the news goes into American Airlines cancelling all their MD-80 jet flights in Dallas. Guess what I am flying??? An MD-80 jet out of Dallas to New Orleans!!!! I've tried all day to contact Expedia or American Airlines and you can't get through. I figure oh well -- I'm going to risk it. At least I have family in Dallas in case I get really stuck there.

Robin - If I don't make it to the wedding I will be very very very sad. I love you bunches and hope everything goes well!

Ultrasound...

The ultrasound experience was absolutely amazing! Baby Wicks would kick or move and while I was feeling it inside of me I was watching it on the screen. So cool. Baby Wicks waved to us, sucked his/her thumb, and had hiccups. It was the most precious thing I've ever experienced. I had officially decided that I was NOT going to find out the gender and Craig was going to find out the gender, but Baby Wicks had other things in mind. He/She sat Indian style w/ legs crossed and let no one see what he/she was hiding underneath the legs. It was kind of funny. I have two still pictures to share. One is a profile shot - Craig thinks the baby has his nose. The other is of the baby sucking his/her thumb! I'm hoping to get a clip of the video we have from the ultrasound up on here, but we'll see if technology cooperates.

To Know or Not to Know... that is the question

I'm in complete anguish. Tomorrow at 9:15am I have to know whether or not I am going to find out the gender of my precious baby growing inside of me. Craig has already decided and said he HAS to know. He said he can keep a secret if necessary. There are pros and cons to both. I flipped a coin last night and it was tails which means I would not find out. I don't know whether to follow the coin or not. Most of my friends that are pregnant have found out and its so much fun to hear what they are having. Plus they can prepare and have everything set and in order. AHHHH!!! Any helpful ideas or suggestions -- please share.

Computer gadgets

I not a huge technology fan and I'm probably behind the times in most ares of technology, but Craig and I recently bought a camera to attach to our computer so that we can see his family members as we talk to them through the computer. His brother is living in Guatemala right now trying to finish up the adoption process on their daughter and he bought one of these camera things so that he can call home for free and be able to see his family and vice versa. Its been the coolest thing ever. We talk to Cliff and Chayse almost every night for free and we get to see them too!! Its so great! Chayse is a sweetie! She is bilingual in Spanish and English - so its kind of fun to speak to her in the limited Spanish that I know. She has the chubbiest little cheeks - you just want to squeeze her. I can't wait to meet her in person. Please pray for Cliff as he finishes up this process. This has been a rough process and there is still a couple more hurdles to face.
